Revised CPE Points System for BCLS

Updates to CPE points allocation for Basic Cardiac Life Support training. Learn about new point system for BCLS certification and how it affects your continuing education requirements.

Revised CPE Points System for BCLS
The Singapore Dental Council would like to inform that with effect from Dentist Qualifying Period 01/10/2019 – 30/09/2021 and OHT Qualifying Period 01/10/2020 – 30/09/2022, 6 points will be awarded for BCLS (practical + theory) and 4 points awarded for BCLS (theory).
BCLS certification must be submitted via your PRS account under “Submit CPE claims” -> Category 1C -> Certification.
Dentist: Please note that fulfilment of CPE & BCLS (practical + theory) are mandatory requirements for renewal of dentist PC biennially.
Note: Dentists who are 60 years old and above are only required to fulfil CPE & BCLS (theory).
Dentists who require exemption from BCLS (practical) due to medical reasons must seek prior approval from Council. Please write in to SDC@spb.gov.sg to request for exemption, and attach your doctor’s memo, stating your name, condition and advice for exemption.
OHT: Please note that fulfilment of CPE & BCLS (theory) are mandatory requirements for renewal of OHT PC biennially.
Note: BCLS (practical) is optional for OHTs. OHTs who have completed BCLS (practical + theory) will be awarded 6 points accordingly.
